Do you love wine and beer?
If you love wine and beer, then Germany is the place for you to visit. What a great 2 week adventure we had in southern Germany; many castles, much history, food galore, especially, sausages, cheese and bread, beer and wine, family, ropes course, concentration camp, and gorgeous bike and river rides. I believe that was the best trip we have had. If you ever have a chance to taste Ice Wine, I suggest you do. It is simply amazing and I don’t even like wine. We will return April 2012 for my host daughter’s high school graduation. Maybe you can Go To Hell with us…Tony and I had dinner at Go To Hell, in Rothenburg, Germany and it was fantastic…The lower half of the restaurant was built in the 900s and the top of the building was added in the 1500s.
Wonderful to be back in Santa Cruz, as well. Walked the dogs, made our first breakfast at home. Nice to come home to a clean house and dogs well taken care of. Unpacked our suitcases, had lunch at Linda’s Seabreeze Cafe and pruned the garden. Next to tackle the mail, phone calls and deal with the refinance mortgage option. Home Sweet Home, there is no place like home. I do miss my family, I can see Anna waving goodbye and feel all the hugs and kisses, in my mind. We can both still hear the laughter of Barb, my sister’s friend on her first European travel.
Speaking of travel, I picked up Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat Pray Love” at the Texas airport at 6 pm last night. It was 103 degrees with thunder storms in Dallas/Fort Worth! I am enjoying the book and can hardly wait for my next flight on Wednesday, when I am off to the Zam Zuu convention in St Louis, Missouri!
